Death Blimp
3ds max, combustion, Photoshop
March 2006

The concept was to create a highspeed, nuclear powered derigible. Glass would be used to reduce its visual profile. The basic structural premise was to create a derigible in which the body itself was a giant engine, with "small" maneuvering thrusters on the side to give it agility.

Since the thruster ring can move forwards and backwards, as well as rotate. And each individual engine can rotate on its mount, the possible thrust vectoring capabilities are unimaginable.

Who says a blimp has to be slow and clunky? Ok who besides God?

3D modelling done in Max.
Texturing in Photoshop.
Compositing in Combustion.
Final Touch-ups in Photoshop.

About 60 hours modeling and 15 hours matte painting.
